Gladiators

I've been experimenting with "digital painting" techniques- that's to say, working exclusively in photoshop, concept to completion.

This gladiator sketch is a result of that.

I really like a lot of things about this approach, but I have some mixed feelings about it.

I feel like because it doesn't have an underlying tonal sketch, this isn't going to retain what I think may be my "signature rendering style". 

That may not be a big deal, but I have been considering what it is that makes my work different than all the other talent out there.
